Steep walk? I jogged itI am probably thinking of the café at Dodd Wood. It was a very very hot day, and what seemed like a steep walk to view the Ospreys.

Did they have the upper viewpoint in the 50's?

) and it was a very very hot day, and well past lunch time.
After seeing the Ospreys, I ate my picnic lunch. Then I took the easy option and walked back down to the cafe, for tea and possibly cake. I caught the bus to Keswick, then a boat to where I was staying at ....
.. Nichol End. I cannot recall if I had an ice-cream in Keswick while waiting for the boat.
In fact, he just upped the purring.
I thought we were going to gain a kitten in similar circumstances last winter. While I was out in the garden he leapt onto my shoulder from the roof of the shed, purring madly, then wouldn't go away. After 3 days of trying to find out where he'd come from it turned out it was his first time out of the house from only about 7 doors down the road and he'd got lost.I made a new friend yesterday

He adopted his current owners by just turning up on their doorstep during the winter and never leaving. Unfortunately, he nearly killed their elderly cat so has to live outside. We had a BBQ at their house yesterday and Mr Gorgeous spent a very long time curled up on my lap, purring at top volume and rolling onto his back for belly rubs ... which didn't result in me requiring stitches and an anti-tetanus jab.In fact, he just upped the purring.
S and C dropped several house-sized hints that I might like to take him home. I wish...

That is pathetically sweetAfter 3 days of trying to find out where he'd come from it turned out it was his first time out of the house from only about 7 doors down the road and he'd got lost.

Not allowed.
My landlords have also been adopted by a cat, only she's mostly feral. She's only the size of a small rabbit but fights other cats with the same attitude as General Woundwort.
