We went to the car boot sale, it was on, but a bit reduced in size, and rather blustery! Still, NT spent a whole pound on a saw.

Then we came back into town, and used some vouchers to get free coffee at Costas. They've had a refit, and put leaflets through local letterboxes for a free coffee. Lots of people put these leaflets straight in the recycling.....

Home now, and time for :cuppa:

Is my :cuppa: ready?

Tidying the garage did not take as long as I thought it would.

The cardboard is now in a big heap for taking to recycling on Wednesday, together with used cooking oil. All the clean bubble wrap and clean packaging peanuts are in clean boxes ready to go in the attic. I also tidied up the corner containing the gardening tools and odds and ends. I found some strong green wire. Just what I was looking for last week, (and could not find) to tie the Bottle Brush plant against the wall. You could imagine that a plant called Bottle Brush would be relatively soft. No such luck, the leaves look innocent enough, until you brush up them. Yes I should have worn gloves, but have you ever tied knots in garden twine with gloves on. (That is me wearing the gloves, not the garden twine.) I also did some weeding.

The little boy next door is learning to ride his balance bike or it might be a tricycle. ^_^ He is only eighteen months old.

Tiddles was pulling his light weight trailer today to the carboot.
As expected, it was the perfect way to guarantee that nothing bulky was found.

I did see a nice anvil but it was sold. Not sure how the trailer would have coped with a big anvil! Probably better then my legs would have coped riding up the hills on the way back! ^_^

Arch and I have just been out for an Italian meal in a restaurant.

I noticed quite a large family party arrive shortly after we settled into our starters. One of the group was a 20something young man who was 'glued' to his Citroen Nintendo DS playing a game. He even dodged around the waiter putting drinks down and collecting orders to keep his eyes on the screen!
What is it with some people!

On the way out of the restaurant I saw the same thing at another family table, except this time it was a 10 year old ish lad.

What would you have used an anvil for, NT?

I bet Arch was pleased that it had been sold.
Arch probably wouldn't have minded me buying it, she just reminded me that I would have to tow it back on the trailer up hill!

It would have been a nice replacement for that big bit of RSJ off cut I am using as an anvil in my workshop.

I have my eye on a nice old Harvey Frost crane on ebay at the moment....

It is very kind of you to give an old crane a new home, but where are you going to keep it? Cranes need a very large pond and plenty of room to spread their wings. The neighbours might object to the noise.

Arch, have ewe got a tea cosy?

Lots of pictures of unusual tea cosies. ^_^

Or ewe could make these.
(Scroll down for the instructments.)

Cute!

I'm thinking about making some fruit pompoms for the St Nicks 'Not Just Apple Day' (Previously, the event has been Apple Day, but they are expanding to other fruit this year). We've already started making fruit shaped (well, balloon shaped) papier mache pinatas. We just have to paint them to look like apples and pears and whatnot.

If I can reach my wool stash, I might see if I have any suitable colours....

We've had a hectic morning, drinking co**ee, watching the world go by, and buying stuff for a proper hearty casserole dinner. Last night, over a meal out at a local Italian restaurant, we came dangerously close to having some Plans for the Wedding!
