So what's the gossip then? Any news? Or do I have to trawl through the 1000 or so pages I've missed?

Rained in at Aldi.

When I was a kid, we were taught to shake water off umbrellas, while folding them, before entering a building.
I'm astounded to watch people traipsing in with soaking, dripping umbrellas having made no attempt to shake off any of the rain. They look totally bemused as they carry sodden dripping brollies about, as if they have no idea what to do about it.

Are people just really stupid nowadays? Many are older then me and should know better!

It's not their problem. Why should they do X to make life easier for the rest of the human race. These are the people who drop litter, dump dog pooh bags everywhere. They just don't care.

Granted they don't seem to care.
But it was more the bemused look from a 60 something year old as he rolls up his umbrella and can't understand why his hands and arms are getting wet and why there is water streaming from the brolly onto the floor.
The complete lack of comprehension of the 50 something woman as she collapses her brolly in the shop doorway and water flies off it in all directions and she looks around as to say 'Where did that come from?'.

It must be lack of brain as much as lack of care.

NT I have a question about wood worm.

In the lounge I have a very old wooden chest ie circa 1930. I had to move it to vacuum behind it today, and notices lots of very small round holes in the side. Has it got wood worm, and how can you tell if the worms are alive?

I use it to keep spare cushions and all sorts of other clutter in there, so it is a very useful chest.
