I'm back from the dentist.
He didn't do the filling. Gave me a jab to numb the tooth and then took x rays. Then he started drilling and I felt a twinge so he stopped, applied a 'sedative dressing' and sent me away for two weeks. He says it is sensitive as it is close to the nerve so if it doesn't calm down it could be root canal work!

I think the injection wasn't fully working yet as now I am home everything is numb and there is no pain at all! It certainly wasn't numb when he started drilling!
More cost!

Can't even have a for an hour or so now.

Grrrr!

I think you're better off doing it yourself. You've got a Dremel...

If all else fails, we'll give it a coat of the red paint we used on the smoothie maker....

I went to the dental hospital in Birmingham to have a tooth out (because it's free) It was the most painless,quick and pleasurable experience that i have ever had performed in my mouth. Just 3 injections and a put of fiddling and it was out.

Still no money from the tooth fairy, even after phoning my mum

When I was a teen I had all my teeth straightened, and a couple removed to make space, and two wisdom teeth out at St Bart's in London. That was free and very good treatment too.

My last dentist was also very good, but he, and his OBE for services to dentistry, retired and I now have the chap who owns the dental practice he retired from.

Mine's great. She's shorter than me (yes @potsy that *is* possible ) and so skinny she can hide behind a lamppost - I am utterly confident in the knowledge that if needs must, I could take her down in a second.

I've been counting my holes (gaps) i'm up to fiveall on the back. I do look after my teeth, it's just that they tend to crack and it works out easeir and cheaper to get them pulled for free then pay for all the dentistry.

I think I'm fortunate that my teeth are fairly strong as I hate visiting the dentist. My first dentist had rather an unsympathetic technique and I've hated having anything done to my teeth since.
