I think that two of the small trees in my back garden are soon going to be small stumps of broken tree. 
I just hope they do not take off and land on the conservatory of the house two doors down the street.

Just been out for some vital essentials 
and the wind is supposed to be dying down a bit, no sign yet.
It has however started to drizzle, going to be a 'pleasant' commute later if this carries on

One is a Cotoneaster, and the other is a Tamarix Tetrandra. I am more worried about the Tamarix, as it is a lovely tall plant, about twelve feet tall. The Cotoneaster would survive a severe pruning, if necessary.

I usually leave the leaves. Eventually the wind blows them all off the lawn into the flower beds.

I thought that the leaves in the flower beds would die down, and/or protect the bases of plants in the winter. Perhaps she should buy you a leaf vacuum wotsit.

What about a colony of trained leaf cutter ants? They could carry the leaves off to a suitable pile.
