The back road into the village is lovely and quiet - the Road Closed signs haven't been taken down since it flooded. Mind you, having seen the forecast for tomorrow, I suspect that it current status as a separate entity to the river is just temporary.

Evening all! We've been working hard all day - plastering, going to IKEA again (for more drawers and to look at lighting), then B and Q for more plaster, then more plastering.

I finished off one bit of wall all by myself, and NT says he's perfectly happy with it , which makes me perfectly happy too! And he's done a really nice job of plastering the gothic window arch.

I don't need to, it is fine as it is.

This is the finished bonding coat, flat and true ready for finish.

This is the window I was working on.

Just needs a window board and then finish plastering.

Depends if her cake cupboards are empty, if they are there's no way a bit of water is going to stop her getting to the shops

Managed to get home safe from the awful 1.30am finish, just the a few mad taxis and the odd staggerer to contend with, hot choccy and a sandwich for supper before bed
