We're in the process of getting up, and will bake shortly.

Night Train

Maker of Things
Chocolate and banananananananana cake is in the oven.

Blend together 175g (I used 150g) caster sugar with 200g butter.
Gradually mix in 3 eggs adding a little of the 200g of flour.
Fold in the remaining flour, with 25g of cocoa powder.
Stir in two mashed bananananananananas.

Divide the mix into two 8" cake tins, buttered and with baking paper in the bottom.
Bake for 35mins at 190 degC.

When done make up a filling of butter cream and then chocolate icing on top and decorate with sliced bananananananana.

I may skip on the filling and icing as I don't have enough icing sugar left. so it could just have a filling of sliced bananananana.

I do thanks, just short on energy today, I guess partly due to having no appetite yesterday and eating very little. TVC still has a bad cough and is a lot worse than me. Lots of :hugs: How are you today Arch?

I'm fine thank you. NT's first words on waking were "Shall we go out this afternoon? I don't want to work any more..." So we will. Haven't decided where yet, but I expect there'll be a cafe or something.

I agree Arch, you both deserve a day off. Then you will, I hope, feel refreshed for next week. I like mooching about, in antiques places. There are a few round here, with reasonably priced objects, and with a Tea Room nearby.

I was inspired by NT's thoughts about baking, and I have made some scones. I expect that unfortunately Lullabelle and TVC are not well enough for scones and tea later this afternoon.
