For some reason my Mother is convinced that the weather forecasters said there would be snow until February 15th. Has anyone else heard this very unlikely prediction considering that the weather forecast is frequently wrong, and anyway does not usually predict weather up to four weeks in advance?

I think she misheard 15 centimetres and thought she heard 15th of February.

She doesn't take the Daily Express by chance? That's the sort of thing they are likely to predict.

I hope so......mind you 6" of snow is quite a lot.


By the way, I hate snow. It stops me cycling and so the quicker it goes away the better. If not I might consider moving to Northumberland.

I have some spikey winter tyres on the Hybrid, I may try them out tomorrow

I spoke to my Mum yesterday to assure her I felt a bit better, and say I was going to have a nice hot shower to warm up. Then I asked if she'd got snow, and she said yes, so I said "Are you alright for food and stuff", while starting to because I was out of bed on the landline, and she says yes she was fine, and proceeded to recite her shopping list of the previous day...

Mums. Love 'em.
