NT, what you need are skirting blocks to stop the skirting and architrave on... hang on I'll try and find a picture...
[Edit: http://www.fedwood.com.au/shop/product/browse/42 ... something like these but you can get them at any good timber merchants... with larger block ones to master the skirting/ architrave junction. Very traditional Victorian/ Arts+Crafts detail.

I thought about that and was going to make some.

The ones in the bigger rooms in the original front part of the house are like these:

Too grand really for a converted part room in the 30's extension part of the house.

I just spliced the architraves, in the end, to extend them.

I have just been in the workshop looking for a bit of timber to make a door threshold to bridge between the Birch ply flooring inside the room and the cheap beech effect laminate outside. I found a plank of Laburnum from a tree I cut down maybe 6 years ago outside my house. It is about time I used the wood for something bigger then jewellery. It will look nice with the door.

Thats terrible and they look very beautiful! Do you know the reason why other then the man made problems cause in the woodlands?

Reminds me of Harry potter owls abit.

Funny you say that ....
The Mrs spotted some tracks in the snow the other night ..... Pretty obvious from a cat
Then this morning she spots another set of tracks .... A bigger animal ....
What could it be she asks

Wolf

I say .....

She beleives me (sort of) and decides to google paw prints ..... It was a fox :-)
