Well I hope that they are finished soon.....it can be very disrupting when you've got this.....even when you've got a good set of workers. Once they've finished, you'll have a bit more peace of mind and perhaps look forward to having the odd storm, now you're fully protected

It is nothing like the disruption I had in 2007! The garage was made into an extra room, and the carport was made into a garage, and the utility room was also updated. That took aaagggggeeesss! It was supposed to take five weeks. But five "builders' weeks" is the equivalent to twenty-five days. Those twenty-five days are not intended to be consecutive days, I now know! So they did two days one week, one day the next week, and so on ad infinitum, for about five months altogether. Fortunately Leo was better able to put up with lots of noise in those days.

I wonder if builders are becoming more professional these days....and perhaps a little wary of becoming the next subject of the 'Cowboy Builders' programme. May be I've just been lucky....there are probably plenty of wrong-uns about.
I know that 10 years ago when I was still involved with supervising site work on major constructions and refurb projects that 'builders' were expected to be polite, not swear, not drink during the working day nor smoke on site, clean their boots, use dust sheets and generally behave like professional workers.

....I'd spill most of it just now...:hyper:
Miss A_T has picked up some awful habits from her driving instructor or at least has been allowed to drive uncorrected... result is MissA_T is in tears and thinks I've been horrible.
Oh dear, she isn't going to enjoy learning with me unless she lightens up a bit.
