Out of curiosity, I just had a look at the ensembles for the weather models - possibly going cold enough for our first bits of sleet or snow next week.

I wouldn't mind the warmth from the Philippines though, quite happy for a hot blast from any direction.

It's November 13th and i am watching last nights episode of Emmerdale. The adverts contained the first Xmas one i have seen so far

Snow is beautiful for the first 2-3 days then it just gets to be a real pain. I wish it was either a guaranteed get snowed in winter so we can be prepared for the long haul or guaranteed no snow.

Planning your commutes is a nightmare if it snows you spend more time getting to work than you do actually working.

Don't tell me. It's going to be right over my head isn't it. ? There is snow on snowdon already.

Snowdon has an excuse. It's 3560' tall and as the temperature drops by roughly 3 degrees C for every 1000' you climb, it's just under 11 degrees colder at the top than at sea level (and that's without windchill).

I've never lived anywhere remote enough to get snowed in. Feel like I've been missing out.

Also, Shrewsbury is in a rain shadow so it can often stay clear here when a few miles down the road there is deep snow.

I've always wanted to get snowed in and not have to go to work. Every time I move house, it seems to happen the year after I've left!
Been snowed in at Ullapool though at Christmas a few years back

I used to drive 50 miles per day to newtown and back for work. Sometimes the snow was so bad I couldn't get there. They would comlain by saying well, it's not snowing here. Are you sure it's snowing where you are. ?

If I am ever in a position to buy a property () I'll view properties in the winter so I know what I'm getting. So many people moved from their urban worlds to the back end of nowhere where I grew up having only ever seen it in the summer and couldn't cope with it in winter.
