Ah, the joy of nearby friends

After 24 hours of lugging furniture, cleaning, etc etc we improvised and made a bath out of a plastic packing box. I got stuck in it

Can't say anything more about the Vaillant other than it's quiet, seems to be economical and has been doing its stuff for two years (tempts breakdown fate).

Glad to see you have tea-making facilities available at the new place

First things I have to have when I move in to a new abode is tea, music and somewhere to put the bikes. Everything else, furniture, clothes, etc are secondary.

Landers, you've seen my place there's still jobs to be done 4 years after I moved in!

Mornings!!

Still dark outside, so I'm letting The Laydeez have some more snooze time beofre I go out there to give them their breakfast & clean out the henhouse.

MrWC is off to London soon, and I shall be worrying all day until he gets back - due to the number of idiots on the roads.

Yesterday Waffles discovered Marmite. She is an addict. It can't be good for her due to the salt, but she *adores* it. She swiped a bit of my Marmite toast yesterday, and she now actively hunts out the Marmite jar. Last night, in the wee hours, she knocked it off the table and was trying to get into it..

When cats work out how to open jars, and tins, the human race is rendered surplus to requirements, and they'll probably eat us.

Baggy, I'm sorry, I smiled at the thought of you stuck in an improvised bath. If it's any consolation, I don't think I could get into and out of such a thing...

Thanks all, for the commiserations - the right knee is just coming up in a lovely technicolour bruise, but I've cycled into work today ok, just walking on a couple of remaining ice rinks bits.

Someone's cat is trying to adopt me! It is a lovely black cat, and seems friendly with my two cats. I am hoping that the "new" cat is just cold because its owners are out. I put some biscuits on the door step for it, but he/she just wanted to come in the house.

I have spotted the thermos on the counter. Where are the cakes?
* considers making some flapjacks *.

That's the hens sorted for the night. It's so cold, dark & wet out there, they've taken themselves to bed early! So They're all snug in their straw and the hen house pophole closed so they are warm & dry.

I know the feeling!

Not the sleeping in straw bit, obviously.

Got to be better than getting off a nice warm bike for a quick lie-down in the snow...

Snow might have been softer to lie in, I was lying on frozen slush....

I'm off to bed soon, well, to sit in bed and look through one of the 6 Ortlieb catalogues Pete got at work for some reason.... And then knit, I have a glove to finish.

I needed assistance with lowering and raising. It's probably a more accurate description to say the bath kind of got stuck to me

There are photos  They will never see the light of day.

Glad your knee is on the mend!

Just the one left, is that right?
*gets confused (and coat)*

A left, I've done the right. I just have to do all the sewing up of fingers.

Cheers, baggy, the knee is ok, but the back's playing up at the moment, probably because today was my desk job day. I've got a hot water bottle behind me, but I'm not sure it's helping, because it's meaning I'm sitting quite still to keep it balanced, when moving about on the chair might be better.
