I've just heard the news:eek:
OMFG.
I'm going to need a lot of tea...

Call me cynical, jaded etc, but I don't think it much matters who's in at the moment.

Was half watching the stuff going on TV, and at one point the picture cut to an aerial view of a car and David Dimpleknees said "Well, that might be David Cameron's Jag, I don't know, Micheal Hesletine knows about Jaguars, can you tell a Jaguar from a helicopter?"

I so wanted Micheal Hesletine to say, "Yes, you fool, helicopters have a big whirly blade on top, Jaguars don't..."

Alas, he didn't....

Well that was a surprise. I watched the news at about 4pm and talks were still progressing. I went out at 6.30 ish back just before 9pm, and there is a new Prime Minister.

Also noticed, live from Westminster it was very dark there at 9m. Here it was still light enough not to need lights.

I would say it was not very dark until about 9.30pm. But then being at the top of a hill rather than in Central London, with lots of tall building, there is probably more light here.

BTW what would have happened if The Queen had been going out for the evening?

She did. She was down the pub with me on the CTC club ride, but her mobile went off, then a helicopter landed in the pub garden to pick Her Maj up. It blew my bike over.

(May not actually be true)

Mornings!

A definite frost last night. Hurrah for micro-climates giving warmth. My back garden has the effect of being a walled garden so there is a bit of warmth retained overnight. Next door's veg patch in the field at the back is covered in frost. My little veg patch in its little micro-climate has only a very, very light smattering of a bit of frost here & there. The Laydeez got a lovely warm porridge for breakfast today. A warm mix of pearl barley, oatbran, sweetcorn and a bit of chili & garlic. They love it.

Only the first morning when I couldn't get it lit - a combo of first time trying to use the firesteel in anger, and cold meths.

It was even more tightly timed for me last night - the extended PM on Radio 4 finished at 7, with no conclusion, I listened to The Archers, turned the radio off at 7.15 and turned the telly on, to find it was all happening...

Maybe if her maj had been out, they'd have had to do the whole thing by leaving answerphone messages.

Or by text:

"Dear queen, I rsgn. Gordo"

"Dear queen, can i b pm plz? David."

Great Stuff. New double act Dave and Nick. Time will tell  Wonder what the chat in the T room at No 10 is now?

Bit of a metal working day today. I'm fed up with my bean canes collapsing in previous years so I've been building a bean climbing frame from bits of rod and pipe. Hopefully it will not collapse when the beans are beaning later this year. (assuming the weather warms up enough for them to grow that is).

Blimey, were we all out last night?

Tea anyone? Lovely day here, although I put too many layers on and was boiling by the time I got to the office.
