You lot are bad, I have to go shopping on way home and can almost guarantee i'll be buying some doughnuts now.
Think i"ll start a 'tea light' thread where all talk of food is banned

My trouble is tea and cake are inextricably linked. Have tea, want cake. Have cake, want tea. It's like some sort of Pavlovian conditioning . And yes it does work with pavlova...

I think it's the same thing as beer/nuts/crisps/pork scratchings. I'm not sure it's Pavlovian, more a taste bud thing. The taste of salty snacks somehow counteracts the bitter taste of the beer, while the saltyness makes you want more to drink.

And with tea, you need a bit of sweetness to counter the tea, but then you want tea to take away the sweetness.

Mmm, pavlova....

When I think I would like something sweet, I now go for a small handful of sultanas. Yes they are sweet and high in calories, but contain fibre and are a much more healthy option. This week, so far, apart from when I got home from last night's tedious meeting :tired: I have been doing well. I just hope the scales reflect that on Monday.

To Helen-I was quite impressed with Silent Witness especially the beginning of part 2, don't know if Speicher has or is still planning to watch it from the beginning so won't say too much

I will not be able to have tea after my tea!

The water supply appears to be defunct, temporarily I hope. May have to fall back on Hot Choc or lemonade or fruit juice. A nice mess that would make.

Saying that I'm surprised you have running water in the 1950's

We tend to keep the kettle well filled to avoid that problem, also keep a 2 litre bottle of water in the fridge to make cold drinks with.

It must be the week for it Speicher. Someone dug through our water pipe the other day and cut us off!

Have had half a packet of Jaffa cakes and put the other half away for tomorrow, wouldn't normally be any left by now

Night Train- Have you ever explained the origin of your user name? It always makes me think of the Guns n Roses song.

Going to have a hot chocolate in support of Speichers' water ban

Errrr - Mirrors reflect Speicher. Well, I'll concede that scales reflect too - the ones on fish at least.

Here - have a Donut  This one has healthy sultanas in
