Where are you going on this mini-tour?

Friday evening, two nights under canvas, back on Sunday. Only about 10 miles up the road, with a few friends, but I haven't camped since last year, so I'm quite excited. We'll fit in a ride on Saturday too. And I might get to use my Trangia to cook, for the first time.

Sounds like a good idea to just go ten miles. I remember one of the programmes with Ray Mears. He was talking about the explorers somewhere in the northern reaches of Canada. They would set off in their canoes, and just paddle about five miles. Then pitch tent for the night. This meant that if they had forgotten anything, it was not far to go back for it.

If they went fifty miles up the river and then discovered they had forgotten something, then they would be up the cre...

Have you got room for the collapsible cake stand. That's the stand that is collapsible, not the cake. ;)

One day, I really will make one of those. I have an idea in my head that it could be done sort of like tiered umbrellas (upsde down so to speak) so that it folded down into a stick shape.

How cool, to pitch one's tent, get the kettle on, and then set out a cake stand with French Fanchies and cherry bakewells.

A folding cake stand, how is your Origami?

Tiers! It must have Tiers! A cake stand without tiers just doesn't cut the mustard, to mix my food metaphors.

My humblest of apologies. What an over-sight on my part.

Surprisingly searching for "collapsible" or is it "able" cake stands gave lots of options. There was me thinking that you might like a small and lightweight one.

There are metal ones that fold, and you add your own plates. Will you be taking china plates with you (and silver cake tongs) or plastic picnic plates? ;)

I just have to check that everything will fit in my trike panniers...

I'm sure it would fit in my trailer, if you fancied another Rat vs Cat. I reckon I could keep up with you with a Rat'n'Tag against your Cat solo.;)
Though if I can't it will be because I am still ill. :surrender:
;)

I'm not long in from the theatre.

I had to build a scaffold platform on my own while the young and fitter lads painted the walls, badly. The young girls did a better job.

Currently eating (drinking?) tomato soup, from the pan, with a wooden spoon. If that bad?

I will have to go back during the day tomorrow to finish it and tie down the boards so that they can do last rehersal tomorrow night before show starts on Monday.

I've looked at the thread and I reckon most of my flat would fit in your trailer!

No, not at all, it's environmentally friendly (less washing up) and nicely retro (if you allow 'Medieval' as retro).

Aw, I love a song from a show. Hope it all goes well.

Tea anyone?
