IIRC, NT, you need *two* cone spanners. One to tweak the cone, and the other to do the locknut up,

How about one cone spanner and one ordinary spanner?

I can't really claim any credit on the car passing the test.
I gave it a cursory wash on Sunday so it now looks like it's not been washed for a month rather than the previous 6 months
I fill it with diesel when needed, which is about once every 4 months nowadays, I also fill up the screenwash reservoir when it starts to cough and splutter the last remaining bit of soapy water. Though I do usually have to consult the manual on how to lift the bonnet as it's been that long since I last did it

I always wear my cycle helmet whilst being beaten around the head, I might even start a thread about it, not had a good helmet debate for about a week

Be a bit fiddly, but ought to work. Cones have very small flats on IIRC, and the locknut is quite thin.
