I'm going on a ride this weekend
Apparently it's 50 miles of flat, followed by 30 miles of up....

I would love 50 miles of flat on a CJ ride, the only time we got 'flat' we had to ride 100 miles

New top speed for me: 35.5. .
Cannot be bothered to cook so having chips again tonight

That's not bad going uphill (for a girl)
Blimey, chips again? I think you are the new 'chip monster' of tea

Since running out of butter last week and having plain bread, I have actually carried on butterless and am not missing it at all, still, I'll make up for it by finshing this pack of all butter shortbread biskits

I can live with that :hungry: though I feel I should confess that it's not going well this evening ... instead of switching the oven on, I inadvertently switched the hob on instead. Naturally, I put the still-empty oven tray on said hob and may have said one or two swears when I picked it up again

Hills are fine provided they are in the correct (ie downwards) orientation.
It's the ones that are going up that are pains!!

I dont mind them gets the blood moving  as long as they are not stupidly steep like sutton Bank, I did one of colins rides a couple of months ago and also the Spring into The Dales with potsy and they were both good rides with lots of lovely hills

Hills have their place. I just wish it was a different place from the one I live in!

I used to really hate hills so I then made sure I did lots of them whenever I went out now I dont mind them so much, which is a good job really considering I live in North Yorkshire, the only flat ride round here is if I go over to york and back otherwise every ride I do is a hilly ride.

I see Jo is looking to maximise the amount of chips and cake she can bring back from the shops

Tea? Or is it still too muggy?

I have waited far too long for Arch to return with the biskits, so I have eated some Tyrrells crisps.

I did carefully explain to Arch that the new shop is first left, then second right. I wonder where she ended up.

In bed. I'm up again now, having 'breakfast'. I set out for the station to meet fellow riders at about 11pm. And thence, to the Tan Hill Inn!
