Mornings. I have a very stiff and footsore dog having done 20 miles yesterday  . I feel horribly guilty  Still, she can spend the day sleeping it off while I crawl cycle up Cheddar Gorge and we can spend tomorrow curled up on my bed.

Pedal powered cinemas are *fantastic* though I managed to get motion sickness by pedalling and watching the film at the same time

Night Train

Night Train, I think I have seen both versions of "The Fly", and enjoyed them both.

Was there a similar film where someone gradually shrank to the size of a fly and then got lost in the garden?

When I was very young, and watching "The Borrowers", it was horrific when the teapot (that they lived in) got washed away in the flood.

The Incredible Shrinking Man I believe.

I think with the later version of The Fly I was put off by the gungy, slimey transformation with bits falling off him. The end, when he holds the gun to his head is off putting because of the eyes, don't like his eyes.

Yes, that looks like the one I saw, thank you for finding that. Difficult to believe it was made so long ago. I also notice that a remake is due next year.

A warning to Potsy: do not click the link if you do not like very large spiders. ;)

Afternoons!!

I have some left-over sticky toffee pudding, but I don't suppose anyone would be interested...

No takers after an hour, maybe my good influence is catching on at last

(or everybody is out) ;)

Another week of being good has seen me lose another 2lbs, that's 6lbs in 3 weeks :becool:

Crumbs, it is surprising how heavy those pound coins are! ;)

Well done Potsy! A "good" weight loss is about one or two pounds a week. I think I have lost about 5lbs in four weeks.

Tonight's dessert is treacle tart and ice cream.

Am afraid I've given up weighing myself recently, must get back on track. It's too much like hard work!

Hard work? I find it quite easy to get the scales out and weigh myself.

Am thinking of having a Saturday take out tonight, not had one for 3 weeks and think I deserve a little treat.
This is nothing to do with the 'kebab' thread

It's harder when you don't own a set of scales!

No, no, nothing to do with the kebab thread, oh no...;)

Also celebrating the return of my cat (Puma) today. She has been AWOL since Monday and I was getting worried about her, she doesn't often go far from the house unlike the boy cat so it was unusual.

It is very worrying when pussy cats unexpectedly go walkabout. Pleased to hear she is safely home.

Baggy, my "secret"? I now have Goat cheese (instead of cheddar or jam or marmelade) on granary (instead of brown) bread at lunch time. This seems to stop me feeling like having crisps or cakey things in the middle of the afternoon.
