I like it when a pun comes together on Google:

Some people have far too much time on their hands

Had a lovely days sleep, I know a few of the lads at work who struggle to sleep on night shift, I feel quite guilty when I tell them I've had a full 8 hours

Well the rain seems to have 'eased' up here, just the usual grey skies now, hoping for a nice dry ride in later, even the usual strength sapping wind seems to have gone away

Pint of tea?

Cold and wet outside so time for a brew... found that the grocer's started selling local biskit maker's broken biskits for £1 a bag.... all different flavours. Even dark chocolate covered ginger thins with stem ginger bits.... oi, gerroff!

Have just been served alongside a pot of coffee and a fez.

Who brought the fez? Are there any other hats?

I've had a busy evening booking some hotel accomodation and trains online, while talking to my sister on the phone, and at one stage, also reading a text message!

Does a Big Mac and fries count as a proper meal if you eat it off a plate?

I have only ever had a "MacDonald's" twice in my life. Once in Dusseldorf and once in Basle. In my defence, on both occasions I would say that it was difficult almost impossible to find a restaurant that was open/not absolutely full/not expensive.

In Basle in particular I did not want to waste time in an expensive restaurant when there were trams to be ridden on instead, as well as a very unusual ferry across the river.

:hello:

Did I miss all the bikits?

Just back from the pub. We actually ended up just a mile or so from my house but I gave into temptation and had a massive plate of sausage and mash so rode back to town with the others. Lovely night for it, the full moon shimmering against the clouds [continues in a poetic vein].

Speaking of which, I am finding out that graduating is an expensive process. I have a ceremony to go to but it is in London so there is the ticket (so I have someone with me), the cap and gown hire (I'm only going to use it for a couple hours, a suit for a week costs less!), the photoraphs (had better be printed on the highest quality velum), the travel and acommodation. I think the course cost less then the graduation will but I want the cap and gown photo for my Dad to make him proud even though it is only a diploma. I missed going to my HND graduation when I studied furniture and I am only really wanting to do this one in case I don't get another chance.
If I ever get my thesis written I might do it all again for an MSc graduation.

As for hats I have a couple of these. One brown, one black.

Now you've mentioned it, you know you're gonna have to do an Oxbridge-style photo on Granville, just for us...

Granville is a six speed bike now, well almost.
The mech I've fitted is knackered but shifts manually when I push on it. I will need to find a good one.
He now has 16t and 20t sprockets on the hub.

That sounds like the same setup they use on 6 speed Bromptons. Back in the day, Cyclo (IIRC) sold a 6-speed conversion kit for hub gears - 2 sprockets and a rear mech. Just takes a while to get used to the shift pattern.
