Night Train

Maker of Things
I've had a productive morning.

Went to bed at about 2.30am this morning and up at 7.30am.

I cut some timber into 3"x1" strips, 8' long, and took a repaired prop sword back to the theatre.
Stripped off the tired and useless bits of wood on the edges of the canvas back drops (the ones with screw points and staples sticking out that lacerated my hand the other week) and then fitted the new longer ones.
Tidied up all the sticking out nails and stage decoration left over from Granada Studios filming Corrie yesterday.
Went to vote and then to Tool Station to buy some more Swarfega.

All that before lunch.

Now I am going to head down to the shops to get some smoked salmon and to check the price of a cheap Brompton size tyre to get Tiddles mobile until I can get some Schwalbe Marathons.

Ah, that shows you haven't quite reached total bike nut status. If you had, you'd be buying the best tyres, and some fish heads.... ;)

Yay for productivity though! And yay for Phil's house, looks like the before and after on 'DIY SOS'.

Note. Two bonus zipties found on the ground outside the office are only bonus if you don't stab yourself in the finger separating them....

I also have half of the inside to do as well

When I moved in here it had been empty for 2 years and had no work done on it for about 40 years, so I put in new windows and got it all water tight, but it has taken me 16 years so far to save up the money and get all the work done that needs doing and there is still plenty left to do, kitchen bathroom etc but I didnt want to get myself into huge debt just to get the cosmetics done.

I think Phil's been moonlighting as NT. This is worrying.

I have, erm, well, er... hoovered. And done the washing up. And was horribly lazy and bought bread instead of making my own.

I feel another round of toast and marmite coming on ... any takers? (I've also got honey and some of last year's jam left.)

The cheap tyres at the LBS were £13.50 so I declined. He can order in Schwalbe Marathons at £28.90. They are only £20.50 posted from Ebay.

I had fish heads for dinner the other day and the smoked salmon is my favorite food and the first purchase in probably a couple of years or more.

I hope your finger isn't too injured. :hugs:

Not bad, but it is my mousing finger, so it's almost an industrial injury today!

Serves me right for trying to poke a zip tie and walk at the same time....

It has been mentioned, in the past, about me having very strong hands.

Well, I was wondering if a pair of pliers would cut a bit of wire spring earlier.
It wouldn't but I did try....

Those pliers have been in use for about 30 years with no damage other then losing the grips.
