Tea? (Part 2)

Dear me, is no one having any tea?

I'm just in from a delightful train trip home, standing for an hour and a half, hemmed in by suitcases the size of Cornwall. How DO people need so much luggage? I saw one chap get off, admittedly he was on the small size, but he could have got inside his own case!

When I am Emperor, no one will be allowed to own a suitcase they can't lift easily once filled. I blame the wheels, they make people complacent.

Just waiting for a frozen pasta bake to cook, and having a cuppa.

My super duper rucksack is almost as long as I am tall. Carrying it when it's full is a bit like giving an overfriendly bear a piggyback ride.

I defrosted some rabbit stew but am no longer hungry. That's tomorrow's lunch sorted

Is there any tea left in the pot?

Rucksacks are different, because the people carrying them are generally capable of picking them up and then getting off a train without having to stop and right the thing because it's tipped over in the doorway on it's own stupid little wheels....

My own big rucksack is on the large size. I barely ever need it now - cycle touring teaches one to pack light!

Volcanoes? Are there field trips?

Did everybody enjoy their extra hour in bed? I'm even Stephens as my alarm went off at 6.30 which is actually 7.30, which is pretty much what the time is now. Confused? I am.

No field trips, sadly.
I have seen a fair few volcanoes -Yasur on Tanna, Vanuatu; Timinfaya on Lanzarote, the drive in one on St Lucia(which is more of a collapsed caldera than a volcano as such) and White Island off New Zealand's North Island - part of the same system as Rotorua. I also went up Etna a few days after a new vent had opened - there was lava about 6 feet away!! Very hot, despite being 10 000 feet up and surrounded by snow.
I was utterly gutted not to see Fujiyama when I went to Japan earlier in the year. We went near it on a bullet train, but didn't see it

Bird Flu?

1 more day before operation diet starts again, have been a right the last few weeks, I am blaming you lot entirely.

Yesterday I ate 4 scones, *some* bakewell tart, crisp, and a Weight Watchers Mousse
