It's 27km to work and 31.5km from work, with roughly 700m climbing for the round trip. The Alpine Classic is in late January: that's the one over 200km with 4000m climbing It has spectacular views, the only drawback being that it will be very hot.

Envy is now my middle name..

can't do cycle commuting, job description states so "own, maintain & use own car for purpose of work" or some Horlicks like that & even if I did, there would be no facilities to clean up before work, so would be a stinky.

Anyway, I am also envious that I don't have the fitness or time to do such a commute & definitely not fit enough for that Alpine Classic, it would see the house paid off for the Mrs & bairn that.
