I am a tad late....due to circumstances totally of my own accord!
I have been researching London, and how to get to the places I need to, from the place I'll be staying!
I am taking the youngest down from 15th-18th December and we'll be doing the Harry Potter Tour and the Imperial War Museum

Russell Square to Fountain Square, Buckingham Palace Rd (to get the bus to the Harry Potter Tour)
Then the next day from Russell Square to the Imperial war Museum - looks like a bus is best for that one?

Also do you know if it would be cheaper just to get a couple of day travel cards (Zone one, peak, @ £9 each) for the first journey and then for the museum, get just a return bus fare? Can you pay cash on the buses or is it all Oyster cards etc?
