Evening, anyone who is still awake. I've been to bed for an hour or so but cannot sleep even though I am shattered.
Well, we are here. My friend Debbie and I mucked out the bathroom. It took us over 2 hours and the shower drain doesn't work at all and the screws are corroded so we can't get the drain thingy out. It's stuffed solid with cat litter as far as we can see. Joy of joys. We started mucking out the new flat at 10am and finished (kind of) mucking it out at about 6.30pm. We used
7 Bottles of demestos
3 cans of Oust
1 bottle of some sort of draino down the loo (black and filthy and caked with - nah, I don't even want to think about that) and in the wet room shower drain.
2 bottles of Zoraflora disinfectant
1 packet of 10 scrubber sponge things
2 of those spray grime cleaner cans of Cilit Bang
2 Henry Hoover bags
1 bottle/mister of fabreeze
1 sprayer bottle full of mould cleaner offerer
1 bottle of bathroom cleaner
1 bottle of kitchen cleaner
1 bottle of Cif general purpose cleaner
plus a shed load of elbow grease
The place still stinks just not as badly. It's no longer eye watering, just a touch hummy.
When our swap partner moved his cat litter trays, he didn't empty them

and put them, in situ in the hallway of our old flat, just about overflowing with cat poo.
We have to pop back tomorrow as his cats were loose in our old spare room so we couldn't liberate our acoustic guitars so we WILL be getting them tomorrow. Along with the bulk of Hubster's meds.
Our swap partner has skipped out on going to the dump and there are 3 mouldy mattresses in the back garden, a mouldy bed base and a lot of other assorted rubbish. He's left 2 sofas, a microwave, a dead kitchen cupboard carcass and other assorted crap in the front garden. I guess we are off to the dump tomorrow morning. We have taken a lot of photos and will be having a discussion with our new housing officer on Monday. When we saw her yesterday she actually told us to call her if he didn't clean the bathroom out or dump all his rubbish.
The new neighbours seem OK. They are really glad to see the back of our swap partner and his cats, by all accounts. The local pizza takeaway place is awesome. One of the best pepperoni pizzas I have ever had (we ate in the garden). Happily, this flat has a lot of potential to be amazing once we have painted over the horrible khaki paint. We've got a ton of 'antique cream' or Magnolia to you and I, which is a good start.
Now having a nice cuppa as neither of us can sleep despite being really tired. Heigh ho. A night ride is not an option. I can see the bikes but cannot get to them
