I'd seriously think about checking your new flat out. For anything that seems out if place. If you've a loft, get it checked.
Too much odd stuff has happened.
We've no loft here, I think that we have just swapped with a total scumbag. I have a couple of client's that work for the same company as our swap partner. The local branch is not huge so I might ask a few pertinent questions. The electrical system and gas system have had a full inspection as of the 15th October so we know that they are OK
We now have a working gas meter, a working gas boiler and the locks are changed. The loo is still blocked, we've spent 12 quid trying to sort it out so I'll ring the council again tomorrow as it's been blocked since we moved in and it's getting ridiculous now. We have sorted out the shower drain and it's just fine now. We've taken care of the rat's nest (or at least the dogs have sorted it out). I think that we have a different idea of good standards to our swap partner. It seems our new neighbours are pleased to have new neighbours themselves.
This flat has a lot of potential. It's a good size and we start painting tomorrow, then I can start putting shelves and cabinets up. We would ideally liked to have had some paint on the walls by now but with one thing and another, it's not happened. Not risking the bikes in the very unsecure shed, we'll get bike box in the near future. In the meantime, the MTBs will have to live in the bedroom, along with the roadies.
