I notice quite a few ex London Midland 153s made it to First Great Western, they love to tag them onto everything. Last saw one on the back of a 3 car 158..

They tag them onto the back of 170's, you get all sorts of problems with them. At this time of the year the 170's have wheel slip protection (anti-lock brakes) the 153 doesn't have it, when they start slipping and sliding (leaf fall) the brakes utilise the wsp on the 170 but the 153 locks up, resulting in wheel flats on them. They are utter c**p.

Could that cause one to "jump the points"?
