Evening all.
We've had no interweb all day. We have had TV but no broadband. We rebooted the whole lot.
I mucked out the airing cupboard today. More fossilised poo but no mice. I've painted it too - the inside of it - as it was bare plaster. There was a bit of tatty old lino and a, quite frankly, disgusting bit of carpet which are now on the dump pile ready for a trip there tomorrow. The back bedroom now is now habitable, guitars unpacked and on their stands. I've even found my music stand.
Our swap partner arrived this morning with some post that must have been sent before the address change caught up with them. He also brought half of his half of the van & diesel cost. The rest on Thursday morning he says. He had a fag on so I didn't invite him in. We were very surprised that any money has been forthcoming as he has been ignoring texts about taking the dumped pile to the dump.
Chatted with the neighbours next door on the other side today. They seem a nice family. They were mightily relieved when they saw him moving out. They put the 6' fence up on their side of the fence so they didn't have to see his dump of a garden and it blocked the smell a little. Funnily enough, that's exactly the same reason that the other side put up their 6' fence and the same reason that the house at the bottom put up theirs. The upshot is I have happy and relieved neighbours and a fabulous fence all around that is secure and that the Greyhound cannot jump over
This flat is going to be a fab place to live I think. 2 decent chippys within walking distance, Aldi 200 yards away (opposite those chippys) an excellent pizza place, a co-op too. 1/2 a mile from the Marriotts Way for cycling and walking so just 2 1/2 miles of safe cycling to the city. We are really chuffed to be in now.
