Evening mikey
good ride out ?
Yep, not so bad, apart from the person with no lights cycling in the dark, and the dog walker with a long lead and no lights or reflectives.

Slightly longer walk to All Terrain next time your up here.
Treat yourself to a penny farthing!I am worried that I may find myself ordering a steel framed Audax bike from Ellis Briggs if I set foot in there. I've ordered parts from ATB on t'internet.

Perfect for coming down through the lights on the main road past the shop.
Assuming you don't use the spoon brake at any of the lights, there's a a junction about half a mile further on, on Leeds Road.Hmm, where will I stop?![]()

One dog I meet (with his owner) has a flashing light attached, I had to stop and inquire first time I met them....and the dog walker with a long lead and no lights or reflectives.![]()
Assuming you don't use the spoon brake, why not. Road starts sloping uphill near the junction mentioned. You think I'll make it past Briggate?![]()
What does 'Audax' bike mean mikey ?I am worried that I may find myself ordering a steel framed Audax bike from Ellis Briggs if I set foot in there. I've ordered parts from ATB on t'internet.
Keep an eye out for a Paul Milnes frame. Another Local bike shop. What does 'Audax' bike mean mikey ?
I don't think I ever saw or heard a definitive answer.
Is it maybe a big distance event type machine ?
Saw an original Ellis Briggs for sale on the Hillary's website (not blinds) & it looked very nice too.

You might have problems getting a Penny Farthing on a train.I'd rather turn right and take the train
For me, an Audax bike needs to be comfortable, not a racing position, , have mudguards and maybe the option for a rear rack.
I think of them as a sort of fast tourer/winter road bike type of thing. What does 'Audax' bike mean mikey ?

You made it back then!I think of them as a sort of fast tourer/winter road bike type of thing.
Something you can stick panniers on but still nip along swiftly, just not at race pace.
Edit - pretty much what @the_mikey said before me.![]()
