I had a very nice commute. Yesterday's heat finally vanished at 8:30 this morning, when the temperature fell from 25.5 to 19.5 in 30 minutes. This afternoon it was pleasantly cool. After riding the obligatory 4km to the nearest shared path, I put my iPod on to play my Chris Rea playlist, and had a very slow, relaxing ride home. The remainder of my ride home is all shared paths, with 1km of local, residential streets just before home, so safe enough to use an iPod. On getting home, I continued playing the same playlist, but on my desktop PC, and I'm now listening to this track:

i recommend watching the video, and pretending you're actually cycling along these roads...

Ah, that's alright, no doubt someone will be along shortly to give this hypothetical being a kick up its own rear, thus propelling it into a ridiculously long and unfeasible bunny-hop. Or it will perhaps be issued with a parking ticket by the Vogons, for overstaying its welcome.

It's Friday evening, here! I survived another week of you-know-what, and end-of-year leave draws closer, which is good because at this time of year, I start feeling badly in need of a few weeks off.
