Same here Emma. Was very chilly first thing. I keep popping my head out the door but it still feels cold. Lol.

Schools are back today though so if I don't go soon, I would be better waiting until just after 9 and miss the mad school runs.

The Scottish schools appear to be starting back a lot later compared to the ones down here

Yes. It gets confusing. Even the local schools have different start times. One of the independents started last week but the rest are back today.

Decided just to wait until the rush is over and it hopefully warms up a bit. Quite looking forward to a wee tootle in the sun.

Morning all... another day of tidying jobs... today the driveway gets it - a pressure wash that is - and a rotting raised bed to be removed, borders weeded and turned over, a new tent tested, a load of rubbish to be transported (again)... phew. Coffee first of course. :cuppa:
A first for me down here in Devon yesterday... a Red Kite sighted over my house, being mobbed by Rooks. Reported sighting to RSPB as a really unusual sight this far south, I see loads up in Cerdigion of course... apologise for picture quality, it was high and I had to run inside to grab a camera, no time to change the lens to the telephoto!

Quite a few up this way.

Swallows have been slow to appear. Only just saw my first one sitting on telephone wires this morning. Just on its own so hopefully rest are on their way. I felt a right idiot as I spoke to it when I walked past with the dog then realised there was a guy standing on the other side of the road. He no doubt thought I had lost my marbles. Lol

That is a great sight to see a Red Kite where they are not too common. A good sign that the population is thriving, we were just in Herefordshire last year on a ride, not far south of Malvern and saw one last year, again that isn't their normal stronghold.
