Like a lot of shows the first series works, so more follow trying to wring it out for all it's worth.

Look at that Benidorm, it's on something like it's eighth series, and it's just repeating the same old shite over and over.

John Cleese had it right, two series of Fawlty Towers, then leave it alone.

I saw an interview with Rik Mayall a while ago, he said something similar about The Young Ones, "we knew we were running out of ideas, so we killed them off and left it at that."

Totally agree with you regarding Benidorm, Mrs and me have been saying this series is totally c**p. She also watches Waterloo Road and says this is the last series, and that has also run out of ideas.
