Cracking 5 mile walk in glorious sunshine, back tracks still icy in sheltered places but enjoyable:thumbsup:

Just back from a dog walk up the woods. On the way there we saw a bloke with a kid and a Border Collie, probably about 12 - 18 months old. He was bawling the dog out for pulling away from him, all the way up the road. BC was muzzled and had a Halti on. Then the bloke kicked him to the floor twice and, believe it or not, punched the dog in the face, flooring him again and then the bloke carried on dragging this poor dog up the road. I yelled at him to stop it. Bloke then continued to kick and punch the dog and then dragged the poor thing off around the corner. I yelled at him again but just got a load of effing back as it's his dog and he's entitled to kick it.

I had no phone on me or I'd have filmed it and called the police - not that they would have done anything. I saw him again a bit further around the walk, still kicking and screaming obscenities at this poor dog. It'll be dead by summer, I should think. I'd have followed him home if I could have kept up. My Millie is 18 now and a bit slow on her paws.

I've a coffee now but I'm a bit upset about this. One of the things I hate about living on the edge of a council estate is the other tenants. Especially the ones like that.

That sounds awful  I don't know what possesses some people to get a dog of any description, let alone a young Border Collie. They really need sympathetic handling and training. Hate to think what future the poor dog has.

A short one, I should think. It's whole demenour was one of cringing fright, it was pulling away and positively slinking along. Poor wee thing. If I see him again, I'll follow him and report him to the RSPCA. Better still, I'll ring a buddy of mine.
I wish that I could have filmed it and then I'd have had some evidence to take to them (RSPCA/Police). But bloke is a local so I reckon that I'll see him at some point. Just a fluke that I had no phone on me.

I hope it turns round one day and bites his bollocks off.
