The 37°C maximum never happened today. Instead, it reached about 35, and dropped to about 28 by the time I left work. Then, between 6 and 7pm, it dropped from 30 to 20. I love it when Melbourne does these sudden cool changes!
All it takes is for the hot northerly to change to a southerly, coming straight from Port Philip Bay south of Melbourne, and the change is dramatic and sudden.
