Are you not entitled to a bit of money of the state? After all, you've paid in for years. Employment support allowance at the very least. Hubster gets some, even though I'm earning.
No not a penny. Apparently I didn't pay enough contributions whilst I was trying to cycle around the world. It appears I forgot this would be needed!

It is ESA that is paying the national insurance contributions for me, now. It is unlikely we will get any council tax reduction but I am trying for PIP but given something like only 45% of claims are approved I don't hold out much hope. Council tax reduction being a means tested one apparently, but I will deal with that when we have to stay paying it in April. Hard to submit a claim for a reduction in something you don't currently pay!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
There is crappy cake? I had no idea:eek:

Yes. There is crappy cake. not all cake is made equal. Some is yummy, and some is not. Plain cake like that is only good for soaking tea up, but as for taste. Meh. A waste of ingredients if you ask me. And madeira is def rubbish cake.

Kettle is back on. I have been out and pruned the buddleia. My gardener friend said end of Feb, beginning of March so I thought that I'd get on with it. I have been very brave and taken one down to about 30cm, as per John's instructions. The other is half a tree! So I have taken the branches back to about 30cm. I hope I haven't killed it. I took a pic and texted it to John and he says that it looks fine to him so maybe it will live. It has 2 choices. The Buddleia hasn't been pruned in a couple of years or more. It had got a but unruly and very stringy looking.

I just built a C/C++ cross-compiler, built to run on Linux and generate Windows PE32 executables, because I needed to be able to build Windows 32-bit DLLs using a Linux PC. I then ran it on a real example, and it works perfectly. Beware, and keep your distance from me, lest my geekiness overwhelm you. A very satisfying Friday at work. Hopefully I won't think about all this too much while riding home, as I prefer to just enjoy the ride, not solve technical problems in my head while riding.
Yeah, I built 2 of those in my tea break last night, in between posting on here & splitting atoms....

twas easy peasy.... :okay:

(not got a scooby what he's on about)
