I sat and looked at that form for a long time. The last question was accompanied by a advisory note that sort of read 'don't bother if I were you...' (It might not have said exactly that.) So I'm dependant on the OH too.
Good Afternoon... just done a long turbo session, now doing tea and an apple. :cuppa: When I'm off the Ginger Nuts it's a pretty serious fitness kick

I'm giving it a try - see the response to classic33. You have to fill it out for your bad days not your good days.

Think if what you'll have to look forward to though!

PIP is Personal Independence Payment. I'd say its one test you're going to fail.
I'm assuming you've seen the self assessment form they send out.
Remember it correctly, they make no mention of any medication required to allow movement.

I'm nowhere near as good as I make out. trust me. I can't dress myself, I can't shower myself, I fall frequently (read that as 2 or 3 times a day), I can't prepare myself an easy meal (can't stand long enough or balance without 2 crutches, I can't get myself up the stairs alone by the end of the day - I physically need assistance with my OH effectively supporting and lifting me. I have eating problems because I have to lie down all the time and it also causes my tracheomalacia problems which is known to cause eating problems as it is...I am unable to go out, managing medication needs assistance because on a number of reason not least of all I am now on 16 or more items and some of them cause confusion. I could go on, but of their questions, most are a no I can't do it or further information. And does now as for a list of your medication which needed extra paper! Walking with 2 slightly paralysed legs and a slightly numb foot it not easy. who know's all I can do is try.

the recumbent trike is about the only thing that may get me out and about, but I doubt I will be able to manage much distance, it is just a change from my twice daily walks! I don't actually know that I am going to be able to sit in it for any length of time and it will have to have the seat in the most reclined position. that is certain!

Afternoon Mr. Traindriver :hello:

I was told to fill it out/complete it for a normal day
they actually told me to fill it out for a bad day. about the only thing I will pass on is thinking (and that is dodgy on a bad day as some of the other mods will confirm) and money (which I avoid doing on a bad day)... OK there are one or two others but not many.... most are difficult or not possible for me. but apparently only 46% of people pass it! we will see.

Edit: and I understand the not liking it - it's not something to like really. We are even having to raise the question of if we can stay living here - something our landlady asked me today! All I could say was that we had to wait and see how things developed but if they stayed the same, then probably not. I would be needing a bungalow or somewhere with a downstairs toilet and a spare room that could be made into a bedroom. but living off 1 income will make that very difficult.

Bad day for me would mean not doing most of what was asked, including the one they don't ask about eating.
Hard to do when your tounge takes up most of the space in the mouth. No painkillers allowed either.

I can't swallow without airway difficulties at the moment. Also the tracheomalacia can cause coughing attacks caused directly by eating. these carry on til I throw up! there is nothing that can be done about the latter, - the former can be dealt with by sitting up - something I can't do... you are left wondering how the human race survives sometimes!
