Tecnically a motorcycle & not a car i thought.
No.Would we notice if it was any different?
Tart round here too...Couldn't care less, I know them as tarts and that's what I would buy them as round here. If different in another part of the country I don't live there
Thought you could drive one on a motorbike licence ?I think you'll find it's classed as a car.and its insured as one as well. Not a motorbike
Thought you could drive one on a motorbike licence ?
yep, it arrived on Wednesday and I have been out on her 4 times since then. great fun. one or two issues to deal with, like the short length rear derailleur which is being used as a cheap chain tensioner on my Rohloff hub can't cope with the excess chain thrown up form the front derailleur, so I only have the middle chain ring available without chain slip... the inner chain ring is not useable sadly... it would be quite useful at times. otherwise it is just a case of working out some of the accessories and how to get them onto the trike without the rear pannier rack on, which I think will have to go on in the near future just to allow me to mount my rear light at the moment... oh - just though of a way around that issue.... I wonder - it could work.... moved the mirrors from the steerer bars to the helping handles this morning which is better because they are now in my line of sight when looking forwards which is much easier and better than before.so did your recumbent turn up & are you pleased with it ?
I though they were classed as motorbikes and only needed a motorbike license as well!I think you'll find it's classed as a car.and its insured as one as well. Not a motorbike
found this...
"Licence Groups permitted to drive a Tricycle:
Group B1 Motor tricycle / quadricycles
Group B Car category manual or auto
Group P Mopeds (Tricycles not exceeding 50cc and a top speed of 30mph)
Please note! There is still a belief that if you pass a motorcycle test that you can drive a 3-wheeler like a Reliant Robin, this is no longer the case. For those who took a motorcycle test and gained Group A on their license before February 2001, this gave them the full Group B1 entitlement. However, passing your motorcycle test after February 2001 does not give you full Group B1 entitlement. For those who passed a car test (Group B), although the driving license may not be explicitly marked with Group B1, it is included because Group B is the main category and also covers the sub-category B1."
I love to have the nerve to own a reliant, I'd bet it would great fun.
