Right you lot, pay attention at the back.

Todays Greek word is:-
Καλησπέρα (Kal E sper ah).
The 'e' is stressed making the 'sper' part of the word louder. This means 'Good evening' and is used as a greeting from late afternoon until late at night.
Don't suppose vespers comes from the same origin?

Well, after getting back with the pooch it was still so nice I got the bike out for a wee 16 mile spin before tea. Too nice not to go and tomorrow morning looks like it might be wet anyway.

Vespers came from the old French for evensong, with that word having its root in Latin. Vespers is an office of the Western Christian church, whereas the religion/language of Greece and the Rep of Cyprus both have Eastern roots.

Evening.
Tea has been eaten, leftovers in the fridge and kitchen tidied up.
I am looking forward to not having to get up in the morning, as the kids have now finished for the Easter break.
That means it's not long until we go for our long weekend in a luxury log cabin :hyper:
In other news, we have managed to get the lad a cheap bike in the right size (outgrown his last one). Nothing special but it'll do for now as we're not sure he'll continue cycling.
