@stephec, assuming you are facing West for that picture. Just to the left is where one of my relatives lives.

Looking at mulitmap this morning it seems I was facing east towards Howth, with Tyrellstown behind me.

Bizarrely we had freezing fog in Fife this morning (and that's not easy to say!), had to scrape the car windscreen - however once that burns off should be another cracker! Pity I'm stuck in an office with no windows...

Might try to sneak out for a quick blast when I get home.

We have had the freezing fog for the last 3 days. this morning it was only mist instead.

But we were treated to a Parhelia (or Sundog) as well. I had though the conditions were suitable last night but didn't see one when the sun set, so was pleasantly surprised to be treated to one this morning. The simplest explanation is a rainbow in the sky without any rain. The next best explanation is a certain type of ice crystal in the stratosphere at a certain level and position to the sun...
