Loons and Quens.
Ken, aye.

Round Lossie' - Forres & Elgin they do a kind of sound that means yes or ken I understand.

It's the weirdest thing, they kind of suck air in through their teeth once or twice in quick succession.

Almost like they are too lazy to speak & say yes I know.

Odd.

Hi di hi folk.
Can't believe our luck, yet another glorious morning here in the East.
Had a great ride yesterday, 50 miles but chickened out of ditching base layer, don't want the core to chill.

Discovered Lidl now sell a high protein bread roll, 27g of protein per roll. Along with there amazing cottage cheese and Moroccan couscous, we had a great luncn in Musselbourgh by the river.

After breakfast Mechanic John is fitting my new rear derailleur, cassette and chain. So all going well we will have a more sedate ride this afternoon to test them out.

Did I ever tell you, one of the lads on our Station football team played for Caley Thistle, as well as the Station team ?

He was on about £80 a match + win bonus.

I played for the same Station (Kinloss) & also for Forres & Lossiemouth (but not all at the same time).

My mate was telling me one of the drivers at Inverness used to play for either Thistle or Caledonian before they merged.
It does make me wonder what kind of money they must be on up there, 3rd in the Scottish Premier League but their players and other lads from team up there get lured down to the Championship down here.
A prime example being Billy McKay would have most likely played in Europe next season, but goes to Wigan to get relegated, but obviously earn more money.

If I remember correct, they were both Highland League clubs which is more akin to the down south equivalent of lower Conference class and tbh probably lower than that..
Teams run by profits of their social clubs more like...
The merger caused a lot of ill feeling at the time but kudos to them who stuck with it as it has certainly worked out well for them as they put most of the so called traditional clubs to shame financially and football wise, it's true a Highlander never wastes a bawbee (nor this Bawbee too:okay:)

Gotta go, a 5p just fell on the pavement 15 mile away:hello:

Apparently my mate tells me a lot of the old fans refuse to go so it is a newer generation that support Caledonian Thistle. Some of the older ones took their support to Clachnacuddin
