How do you type in Greek?

I've had a mess with my laptop and can't find a way, or do you download something extra?
You can set a secondary language in your OS settings and then switch between primary and secondary as you type. It can make things interesting at times because the keyboard layout changes so when typing in Greek many keys differ from the English equivalent so it can slow the typing process and I sometimes forget that I have the keyboard set to Greek and think that I'm typing in English until I look up and see a lot of gibberish on the screen.

I did it that way because I do a bit of writing in Greek while doing on-screen language revision and I also message Greek speaking Cypriot friends on Facebook on the odd occasion as I use FB to maintain contact with a couple of friends there. I try to work with Greek as much as possible as I'm neither attending classes nor mixing with native speakers but want to develop a good level of fluency.
