No it's not. She said it herself. It's ancient...![]()
TBT?Well I had done ten hoses!
One day I will consider 14 miles a pootle. At the moment my longest is 9 and we had a break in the middle. I have a goal though. Next year I want to have a go at this.I went out for a little pootle this evening, just a 23k circuit around the block to shake down the hybrid with the panniers on it and check nothing was falling off, rattling or squeaking. My choice of route needed someone to slap me with something and shout 'No' though... 352 metres climbing... In English that's 14 miles, 1,140 ft.
When I tried to get upstairs to shower and change I discovered that my knees were also dead and the rest of my legs weren't too happy either..
Height climb is nowt. You've only yourself to blame for coming back down and starting again.I went out for a little pootle this evening, just a 23k circuit around the block to shake down the hybrid with the panniers on it and check nothing was falling off, rattling or squeaking. About 18 months ago, my first ride (for several years) was 2 miles. It almost killed me.One day I will consider 14 miles a pootle. At the moment my longest is 9 and we had a break in the middle. I have a goal though. Next year I want to have a go at this.
Oh, I had breaks today...at the top of the hills when my lungs were threatening to do an Alien scene re-enactment...One day I will consider 14 miles a pootle. At the moment my longest is 9 and we had a break in the middle. I have a goal though. Next year I want to have a go at this.

. I do hope so. I love being on my bike. I can't believe I was such a wuss to put off getting on one for 20 odd years.About 18 months ago, my first ride (for several years) was 2 miles. It almost killed me.
Today I consider 20-25 miles as a regular ride! It will happen.
And the freewheel down as well.Oh, I had breaks today...at the top of the hills when my lungs were threatening to do an Alien scene re-enactment...
You'll get there, mainly because you've made the most important step of wanting to get there.![]()
No, like SL's recent ride it only went upwards. There was no down. I think the course was designed by Escher.Height climb is nowt. You've only yourself to blame for coming back down and starting again.
What about a short five minute ride?. Good heavens. That would kill me!
