On the "upside" I met a lot of family, friends and cousins I haven't seen for years. A lot of Sunday dinner plans are being made for the future. That, I'm sure would please mum.

It's weird. With all the modern technology and transport we have, we seem to be worse at staying in touch nowadays. Sadly, it's often only weddings and funerals that bring us back together.

My only brother is only about 35 miles away and I haven't seen him since Christmas. Occasional chat on Facebook. Not good. More effort required on both sides.
