I have just been perusing the Lancashire Road Club site as I am 'thinking' of taking the plunge.
I have come to the conclusion that part of the reason I cycle infrequently is that I get bored of my own company ....
So it might be time to go & bore someone else.

If you pass through @stephec 's way too slowly the locals can strip your wheels & cassette off while your still moving.Ride over Stephec's way and continue on into "Happy Valley"!
Times of the rides might be my biggest stumbling block, certainly midweek as they clash with the school run.I used to ride with them, plenty of choice of group rides.
The Sunday runs that head towards Cheshire pass through Leigh going to Warburton Bridge.
