You've gone all stern again, it's usually smiles when you're in SW.
I have one word to say in response to this. Don't look if you can't deal with women's things!

Good afternoon. Nearly ended up in hospital this morning with Atrial Fibrillation (a condition which I get from time to time). Thankfully the 'pill in the pocket' I am supposed to take if I get an attack, worked, so I'm OK now. Can you believe I worried about how I was going to do earring of the day from hospital! I think I need to pack an 'earring hospital kit' for emergencies.

dropped new bike off at my LBS to have it checked by a mechanic - I want a second opinion on my handy work after i put it together out of the box & switched the wheels around by myself etc etc.

I just love that last part of your post.
Health-wise, what with this and the 'woman's thing', I hope things fully settle down at the soonest opportunity. :okay:

Don't trust yourself?

Since its the first time doing it - its good to have a second opinion of somebody more experienced. Watching youtube videos can only take you so far, but for the better part I think i did pretty well.

I switched the wheels over, messed with the brakes a little. tried to make sure that both sides would be worn in evenly etc etc and tweaked the front derailleur a little.
and also attached the handlebars on myself - I wasnt 100% sure about the angling and I didnt do the 4 bolts up at the front evenly

I dont mind paying a little cash to have it looked at if it means that it wont fall apart on a long ride, If my handy work is spot on, it also means i've learnt something.

I expressed that I wanted to learn more about it in the shop and they directed me elsewhere to some community run schemes where bicycles are recycled for various different purposes etc etc or come back in a few months where they might have time for an apprentice.

Eitherway, i was quite chuffed with meself.

You'll get it back having missed something completely obvious.

I hope not - It was a pretty straightforward job. It wasn't like I had to rebuild the bike from scratch. If i did though that would be pretty amazing since i dont actually have much of the tools needed to do that.

Its amazing how easy things are to do (within reason) but the first hurdle is having the right tools to be able to do it. I had to go out and spend about £20 on cassette tool & chain whip. Im happy i got it out the way now because that means im less reliant on my LBS to what are pretty simple tasks for me.

When i first bought my Triban and had spokedwheels build me a wheelset I had my LBS fit it all along with a mini service. Now i can save money and only go there for issues i really cant fix by myself.

It'd be something like a missing cable outer.
