How did the day go Mr Centurion?
Sad to go to the funeral of one of your mates especially given his age.

The lad was a friend of friends really but I knew him from RL away trips on the mini bus, nice lad, funny, easy to get along with & have a laugh & very welcoming in his pub (landlord). Toddy was 38 not 40 as I had guessed, got an infection in hospital which finished him off, so sad, had a wife & 6 year old daughter.

300 people turned up, family, friends & Leigh fans, about 100 + had to stand outside & listen on speakers !

Abellio stopped and introduced a free first year over 55 ticket, second year if you renewed you got a £1 anywhere off peak...and a free beverage and cake if on a trolley train but now no decent freebies, it bombed in the third year....lack of any decent offers to cover the cost ( you do get a % off off peak travel), folk were looking for the previous successful system....

Freebies are only free to those receiving them but have a cost attached, like anything you get what you pay for, great service = pay for it, poor service = freebies or loss making product, give your product away free or less than cost & expect bankruptcy, not a great business model.

I expect the national free bus travel + free trams & trains to Greater Manchester citizens to be gone by the time I retire, it is simply not sustainable !
