Yep. I was thinking the other day, my Bampy died in 1988, if he walked into my house now, he would hardly recognise anything. The concept of something smaller than his wallet holding my entire music collection would blow his mind.

Mobile phone might confuse him.
The size would yes, but I remember him being given one in case there was an emergency on the building site where he was gaffer. It was like a briefcase and weighed a ton.

It means you are an aces Grandad. My dad goes to all of his Grandchildren's school stuff. They adore him for it.Mornin' all.. Must fly. I have to be up at the ridiculous time of 07:45 as I'm going to my granddaughters school 'celebration' assembly (whatever the firkin that is!) at 09:00

I had lost all my grandparents by the time I was 12, but one of my fondest memories is of my Bampy's face when I passed my 12 plus.
It's what memories are made of. She is 8 and my grandson is coming up 2 and I'll do the same for him when he goes to school etc. I love being a Grandad
