Has the rain arrived?

First bit of bad weather and they turn for home. Reminds me of a new house near a relative, grand views down the over the Shannon, but open to the elements. First year in they were snowed in, with drifts for a bit extra. They sold later that year.

Set up a testing station near the ferry terminal, with isolation mandatory until the results are known.
Normally they would run for home but this year they are more likely to be running here. We already have some cases of covid infection here but nobody seems to know how many or if they do they are keeping quiet about it. The prissie FB page has threatened anyone mentioning such things with a ban. One cannot criticise tourists despite their bad behaviour.
A testing station would have to be in Oban and would mean lots of people staying in isolation but where? Certainly hundreds per day possibly even thousands but I do not know the current passenger numbers.
Anyway it would be " bad for tourism " so cannot be contemplated by the selfish.

Until there's a sudden increase, at which point people will be asking why were they allowed.

Maybe if they'd to pay for the transport off, they'd think twice.

In the first lockdown we had at the first normal ferry checkpoint in Oban you had to show photo ID to prove your main address was here before being allowed further. Anyone with a wrong address was turned away and in the early stages police were in attendance.
Anyone was free and tourists even encouraged to leave the island.
The other two ferries have local crews and also checked for residence proof if you were not known to them.

It'd take more than a year to recover from allowing "free" access if anything goes wrong

Whitetail is about 40 miles at least from where I live. Don't really know anything about them apart from the fact they are at Tiroran where we had an artist friend who left some years ago.
I almost nipped in by bike for a bottle on passing but was heading on the spare day to visit Iona and picked it up en-route..
the trip was memorable for the home baking available across at Pennyghael, local ladies supplying the goodies as there was an art exhibition on at the local hall...we stopped almost every day:laugh: it also brought my dislike for motorhomes to a tipping point^_^

Owdo

Not the end of your sweetpea then?

And if she doesn't replace it, semaphore!

Morning??
Bit wet to strip the tub, I'll definately do the same idea next year..
could do the same with pea plants (but they wont pong as good)...

just waiting for the Angliru ^_^
I'll be mentally pushing them up the wee hill:laugh:

I think the hall at Pennyghael was the local school until not that long ago. My wife commuted from Tobermory for a couple of weeks to teach there in an emergency when I think the regular teacher was off sick. She taught at various times in every school on Mull except Bunessan and spent a long time at Dervaig which was a saga in itself which you would not believe.

It was not free access but free egress. Access was limited and monitored but those already here were encouraged to leave. Or have I misunderstood?
Going by what you were saying, it seemed as though tourists were coming too much. "Escaping", for want of a better way of putting things, from the current situation.

Dervaig is where we stayed^_^
My first trip over was spent in those luxurious glamping white PVC and scaffolding pole specials, this time round I felt a soft bed the best idea:laugh:

It's dark outside..
Bogey Man might get me:laugh:

Morning all:hello:
Slightly calmer today:smile:

Who needs protection,
I just call on Mrs M....
Job done...
Owdo
Nice to hear you've calmed down. This I presume has nothing whatsoever to do with having "hired help" to deal with the Bogey Man.

Would Mrs M always be able to get there in time, to get the job done?

Morning??
