'Morning all :hello:

We're getting sunny intervals here at the moment and are forecast to have plenty of :sun: from Wednesday onwards - which is handy as the kitchen is due to go in Wed/Thurs/Fri.

We have a working bathroom again(bar a wall mirror as that wasn't ordered)! When we picked the bathroom I just pointed at a complete pedestal unit and asked for that. Turns out the mirror unit wasn't included - but they didn't say and there wasn't any indication on the display. Feels a bit like ordering a car and finding it doesn't have wheels when it arrives. I can understand the system, but they might have made it clear at point of order!!

We had the kitchen units delivered this morning and a guy was in doing final prepping in the kitchen for the plasterer, who is due tomorrow. It will be good to see a ceiling and re-plastered walls as the place looks a sight(or should I say 'site', at the moment.

At the end of last week we had a laugh at the expense of one of the visiting cats. The cat arrived at the front door when we were standing talking to one of the kitchen crew so I opened the door and it walked in to the kitchen(it knows where I keep the biscuits). As soon as it got to the kitchen it took one look and went apesh;t trying to jump all over the place. I opened the back door and it jumped out, then stuck it's head back in withe a wide eyed gaze that seemed to be saying 'WTF'. I thought it was funny.

Poor Mrs B can't get her head around what is happening so confusion reigns and my head is exploding with all of what that entails. That said, she loves her new bathroom - even if she does need directions to help her find it!!
Owdo

No more hose-downs or water pistols at dawn then. You can buy one that will simply stick in place. Mirror that is, no holes required.

You'll have sorted your kettle out by now.

I always find it amazing how you can transform a room, I found old photos of our previous house bathroom in the stages from jaded looking to bare (the bathroom) then the finished article, it didn't seem possible but new everything and voila!..
Getting there, sir..

Just complain it's too warm to work. That should get you out of doing some of it.

No mibbes abaht it!!
Planted up some sweet peas seedlings, more an experiment as seeds planted way too late,
I'll be ready next year..
Peas are looking good..
once we get more fence work done I'll put them in a trough(or two) and get some netting organised.
Watered everything assisted by young Beag and his sprayer.
It's crazy really as when you add up the cost of everything,
the garden centres work out cheaper for the plants:laugh:,
Bit rusty as more likely near 30 years since I did all this stuff, as with most new builds the soil (if you can call it that) is minimum and compacted to H and I dread to wonder what I'd find buried tbh.
Oh well...
Mow the grass areas later(not that big gladly)

Carry on folks

You've had a whole year to get everything ready, and you're late starting!
You sure you're not working underco for the council?

And you have to avoid being soaked in the process. You'll manage, somehow.

As for what may lay beneath, best not to dwell on that, or dig too deep.

That video sounds about right @classic33.

The fitter ordered a mirror and is due to fit it today, or tomorrow. I don't much care how it goes on the wall.

Another snag with the bathroom was that the heating engineer was to come back to fit the radiator but he's one of the unlucky few who developed a blood clot after his vaccination so he was then laid low with a TIA as a result. The plumber fitted the rad but it doesn't heat so he seems to have got the pipework wrong(the heating engineer had said that it was an unusual system that would cause issues for the plumber, which was why he was to do the installation). At least we are moving into warmer weather so that can wait until the heating engineer is on his feet again.

As you say Bobby, we are getting there - I hope!!

You'll get there. Never fear.
It's annoying because everything that's happening is beyond your control

Hope the heating engineer is okay, aside from the obvious.

TIA, thanks in advance?

I'd say more likely trying to do two much at once..
my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
More likely watching the other monitor or hearing something coming in on the radio, it's been all over the place but stopping short of any aurora at the lower levels, still trying to find a good vantage point in case but Stirling light pollution will kill most of it.
Anyhow, smelling of bees wax, busy busy:okay:
Off to , have a :cuppa:

G'day folks :hello:

The kitchen ceiling has it's plasterboard up and the walls walls are part done. The plasterer needs another day at it so there isn't any chance of the fitting starting tomorrow, as planned. It seems to be shaping up like the bathroom - a nightmare that drags on. The oven and hob got delivered earlier so they had to go into the hall - the garage is already full.

The bathroom guy was also back today to fit the mirror(nice job) and have a go at the radiator - he got instruction from the heating engineer and got the job done. The bathroom is finally complete, bar painting the ceiling.

I got a recommendation for a painter and he is to call tomorrow to look at the job and let me know if he can take it on. Fingers crossed that I can make some progress there as I really don't want to try to do it myself.🤞
