I had my fair share of the belt too. Bit stingy at the time but didn't particularly bother me. Lol.
You were a wrong 'un:laugh:
proved that by work:ohmy:
I'd a metalwork teacher, Mad Jack. Still out on whether he was or not.
Art teacher by the nick of 'Tin Knickers' no comment, damn good art teacher..
'Yogi' English teacher, always got me to say the first verse of any poem, or stanza he used often.. belted regularly.
'Janey' who closed her eyes and invariably missed..
'Tottie', the headie who came from a local potato farming family, hellfire and brimstone religious nut.

I was a rascal in secondary....
you never got detention if you had to get a bus home...
Bob gets detention but never told him I had a bus to get home, cue Totiie appearing and 'How will he get home'.
A shilling piece handed to me, I walked the 5 miles and bought chips^_^

I had a maths teacher, Happy Harry (no he wasn't)..
I was the first choice if any shenanigans were going on..
I learned quickly to go with the belt momentum..
Some teachers just developed a stare....
My wife had at one point a class of nearly 40 primary 7 boys in Dalmuir. She managed to keep order without belting any of them.

I'd one who seemed to enjoy using the strap. No "going with the belt" as per Bob's method. It earned you another.
Where most used it across your hand, he used it along the hand, going beyond the wrist by an inch or two.
Along the hand seemed to me to be the commonest way and you learned to pull any jersey or shirt down as far as possible to cover your wrist.

That was a BIG class..
All these namby pamby reports in education nowadays..
I wonder how they come up with all these new wacky methods of teaching from their ivory towers..
Education north of the border was once considered best in the world..
now you are feart to upset the snowflakes

That was a normal class size, big would have been nearer 50.

We only have her word she was in as a prison officer.

We'd a nun who after she retired did a runner with a priest.
Clanger, he dropped one every day. Never able to check the validity of this claim.
A chemistry teacher that on reflection must have been the inspiration for Doc Brown(Back to the future).

No such luxury with regards detention. You missed your bus, you walked home, minus any payment.

Nick Nick.....
Most teachers were rather sedate..
quite a few wore tweed jackets with the then ubiquitous elbow patches (that was the women, nah, no really),
Think I'll look out my Back to The Future DVD set now you mention......
I've started watching Discovery's Doc Brown / Josh Gates thing, episode 2 last night to catch up on..

once the Baseball is over.....

Until today's games are over or baseball is over? Either way, you may be some time.

Woodwork teacher named Naylor. A soft spot for Quality Street. which I just happened to be able to get a price not to be laughed at, 2lb bag for 20p.

Asked to get as much as I could for £2. He'd pay when I brought them in. One after the other onto his desk.

Finally:

593020

I think you will agree it was worth the wait.

It's amazing what you can transport in a bike bag if you try.

baseball recording all over the place, dunno if all that server downtime worldwide yesterday is affecting it, so I'll catch the rest later..
3 innings to go....
busy, busy plus all the cycling to catch up on.

Have to say I'm impressed with this GKN/Eurosport App
Lots of content, renews in Aug so wonder if price will stay the same..
I got the offer price, would pay the full amount if it stays there for next years..
Not just the races..
