Short chat or quick exchange of words planned if contact were made. The persian gulf be onboard one of the rigs.
Sounds as though yer being drawn to talking to others, from simple! data exchanges. You can differentiate between Italian and Spanish accents?
He surprised to hear from you, you reckon, after seven years with nada between you...
Clean the cupboards out whilst she's out. When she asks, just say you were peckish...
A night of staying quiet, so as not to disturb the youngest. Can't believe she left to starve though...
You cropping yer hair and sneezing like a Banshee(Do Banshee's sneeze?) related you reckon. Less on top keeping you warm...
Liquid tea been had, before being caught.
I'd have wung/winged it if I were you.

You can tell by the callsigns and 99% of their info is ready available...
You get to know accents.....
Before I passed my RAE ('88), I was on CB since the late 70s but even earlier I 'was a SWL..
Old surplus gear and a big long bit of wire..
Books out the Library plus later on, a yearly guide called the World, Radio and TV Handbook.
Might get the next edition for old time sake.
I use databases for the latest broadcast frequencies and times, but SW is not as populated as it once was. Instead of the radio, I use the SDRplay which is amazing for listening with.

Yer memory still sharp then, if yer not looking things up. Or yer used to the callsigns you get on a regular basis.
True, but you don't really have accents in data calls, or do you?
It's not exactly new to you, this radio stuff. Been doing it a while under different guises. Early "Convoy" CB adoptee I see.
Round the walls of yer room. Army surplus stores for yer gear, or bought from another user who upped their setup.
Had a look for books in the library on the hobby. Not one book in the system to do with it! Is that guide still published in printed format, or has it fallen to digital only.
SW was dying years ago, always told it "won't be around much longer". Yet here some forty years later, it's still got some traffic.
Anything "interesting" heard on SDRplay?

How are we all this fine Monday :hello:
The countdown to the holiday season begins,
White fivers are released from wallets so heavily chained, and the piggy banks get smashed for all the pennies picked up over the year...
I've even got Christmas cake dated to Feb 2026 from last year.....
Mid-Nov we started our yearly Mince Pie taste test with pies dated 26th Nov 25 (winning so far)
Anyhow, I'm late, Mrs M took me for my early morning pint and fry-up..
Delicious...

Nah, I'm not bad on the callsigns, very few stump me.
I've changed details with a Nobel Prize winner, a Lord of our Realm, a World Cup MVP and others (all on more than one occasion).
I was into CB before Convoy, had a US Naval Base on my old doorstep, good buddy....
I once called up a CB dealer-17 in Kentucky and asked if they could send me a certain radio. After the shout of 'It's someone from Scatland, I got told postage was 200 dollars plus, no thanks.....Radio was much cheaper, I just called a late friend who 'imported' them via the IOM and paid 200 UKP. The one from the base? free as I was pals with a couple of the bubbleheads (not a derogatory term).

The army surplus store one weighed something else, don't know how I managed, pals uncle met us at the local station, and he tested and gave us some wire for antennas.

SDR? just the usual stuff, can let me know what's happening, although I can hook up my radio to a program which works the menu and settings at the click of a mouse, worth every cent...
No lunch needed today, Mr Spoons fed me...

It's wet n'windy here at present, Owdo
You looking forward to yer holiday season duties?
Don't be daft, who'd chain a White Fiver up. The wallet I can understand. Piggybank! I use an old swarfega tin that gets emptied when it gets full. Last time it were done, it were 48kg in copper taken into the bank. All sorted, counted and bagged by the £!1. The look on the cashiers face when I walked in with it in a rucksack.
Christmas Cake will hold, when properly made. As will the puddings. I've an aunt that makes them the year before, leaving them to mature for a year. "Feeding" them from time to time.
They might be winning so far, but did you get enough of them?
Fry-up and a pint, she knows the way to yer heart....
I'll have to take yer word, I wasn't there...

The old grey matter still remembers stuff from long ago...
Non of them asking fer favours.
You were up and running when Convoy hit the silver screen. Did the set glow in the dark?
And then you'd probably have had to pay the post office to release it. Did you call them up on the phone or the radio. Never been cheap getting things from America.
Free, from a military base. Did it fall off the back before entering their system.

Not one you could have walked with on yer back. You'd have looked good getting on a bus wearing it. That were nice of him, saving yer legs.

You just turn it on, set it going and it does all the hard work...
Giving you some more free time...
Will you be sent to bed without any bread, or be given summat later on.

Lovely after a very late bowl of porridge.....
I'd got dropped off whilst Mrs M picked up the girls..
They came into the waiting area and when the nurse came for me, Toodles snr pointed to my leg and said to her, 'Bob's sore leg'
Cute as..

Good afternoon :hello:
Phew, an hour being 'dopplered' at the hospital, both legs got a beating.
Oh well.....
After overnight rain, a nice blue sky out there..
Owdo
Did they find anything whilst they "dopplered" you that had them checking yer pockets...
Weren't one of yer legs(foot anyway) bad enough before any beating.
How long you gonna rest?
No overnight rain, cleared here, although it's still warmer than it should be for this time of year. Blue skies here, but for how long....

Just the one slice! If it's famous, how come I've never heard of it 'til now.
And yer porridge were just right...
At home, on yer own, after taking a beating on both legs... Cuts down on time I suppose...
She didn't poke it as she pointed out yer sore leg? They bring you any grapes?

Sadly, I should have insisted,
I just wanted to get home for porridge....and coffee.

It's a secret, no one knows about it

You should have.
And away from being "dopplered".
Put your foot, your good one, down. You don't want to do anything that might slow down yer bad one healing.
Which did you want most, yer porridge or yer coffee...

Not good at hiding things then.
